My name is Laurie Conaty and as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist, my goal is to help my clients Make it Work.
Most people seek therapy or attend an intensive workshop because there are
things happening (or not) in their lives that they do not like and they want to
figure out what those things are and how to fix them. I help my clients identify
problems and develop solutions as quickly and efficiently as possible. I have been trained in various treatment approaches, including EMDR, Motivational Interviewing, ACT, CBT, DBT and solution-focused therapy.

ABOUT ME
I earned my Master’s degree at Virginia Commonwealth University and currently practice as a psychotherapist, consultant, and trainer with 30+ years of experience. I offer holistic treatment for couples, families and individuals. My skills in diagnostics and effective treatment planning have been enhanced through Clinical faculty appointments in well-regarded teaching hospitals. I have a reputation for being both respectful and direct, intuitive and compassionate.
TRAININGS for PROFESSIONALS & AGENCIES
I am a MINT Certified Trainer and honored to be among one of the first groups to satisfactorily complete the Certified Trainer process. I provide training in Introduction to Motivational Interviewing, Advanced Motivational Interviewing and Motivational Interviewing in Group Therapy. Additionally, I provide coaching and coding using the MICA (Motivational Interviewing Competency Assessment.)
I had the privilege of providing ASAM training for a large training company for a year. I now provide this 'deep dive' training independently. My upcoming training schedule is accessible in Clinician Training.
